'SNL' rehearsals may appear on Internet

'SNL' rehearsals may appear on Internet
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 30 (UPI) -- NBC reportedly is considering broadcasting the Friday night rehearsals of "Saturday Night Live" in New York on the Internet.
NBC Universal exec George Kliavkoff revealed the online possibility Wednesday at the Digital Entertainment Media & Marketing Excellence conference in Los Angeles and added the dry runs can prove equally as entertaining as the finished product, the Hollywood Reporter said.
"Sometimes it's a lot more interesting than the show," Kliavkoff said at the entertainment conference. "It's something we watch on the cameras at '30 Rock.'"
The NBC chief digital officer, who came over from Major League Baseball three months ago, expanded on the promotional concept by claiming the network plans on using online resources to improve programming.
"We see the Internet as our new A and R (the music industry term for talent scouting -- artists and repertory)," he added. "We're out there scouting. The good stuff bubbles up to the top."
